HISTORY
In 1892, Emperor Franz Joseph I and the Landtag in Brno gave their consent to the construction of the former Provincial Institutes in Olomouc on Tabulový vrch, where two years later the predecessor of today's University Hospital in Olomouc began to grow up.
The new provincial institutes had 212 beds, later the number increased to 268. The new hospital was set up internal medicine, surgery, eye department, infection, pharmacy, material store, doctors 'flats, house of officials and nurses' home.
The next stage of construction of the hospital began in 1950 with the establishment of an independent dental clinic. In the following year was opened the allergology department at II. internal clinic and in 1953 a new farm building
After 1989, the project "Modernization and completion of the University Hospital in Olomouc" began. The project was approved by the government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and in 1992 the center of the teaching hospital was rebuilt. It was the construction of a central building of surgical fields - the so-called surgical monoblock with fourteen new surgical theaters with the latest technological equipment.
