For the ninth year, the robotic center has been serving patients and doctors at the University Hospital Olomouc. Since its inception in September 2009, specialists from the Olomouc hospital have carried out almost two and a half thousand operations. Their patients come not only from the nearest surroundings, but also from Slovakia or Poland. Olomouc University Hospital now has the latest generation of the American robot system Da Vinci Xi available for urological and gynecological operations.
The da Vinci multi-arm laparoscopic operating system simulates human hand movements in the patient's body. The doctor sits at the control console, sees the operating field through a stereoscopic imaging channel, and controls the tools in the "hands" of the robot via joysticks. Through the punctures in the skin, they perform very precisely their own performance in the patient's body.
