Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology is currated by Jan Zdráhal

The capacity of the clinic is 65 beds at the following stations:

Department 17 - Gynecology and Pathological Pregnancy,
Unit 19B - puerperium ("rooming in" system),
ward 17A - Intermedial care unit (5 beds) and ICU ward (3 beds).

 

On the ground floor is also the Center of Assisted Reproduction, which includes a separate surgery room and 8 beds for stationary care.
A separate entrance from the side of the building enters the first floor ambulance pre-natal care, there is also one specialized examination room of the Center of Fetal Medicine.
The delivery room (2nd floor) has a separate technical access, 7 delivery boxes with accessories and complete equipment, of which 3 are used as a obstetric ICU as needed. The Department of puerperium (19B) has a capacity of 21 seats (three above standard single rooms and 9 double rooms with separate sanitary facilities and is linked to the independent Neonatal Department of the University Hospital Olomouc.

 

HISTORY

The construction of the maternity hospital in Nová Street hospital was completed in 1899. The first head physician was appointed the head of the Babice School, MUDr. Eduard Frank, who later earmarked part of the ground floor (now 1st floor) for gynecology.

 

In 1954, prof. Marshal at the clinic own X-ray workplace. At that time, research interest was focused on the introduction of new diagnostic methods for female tuberculosis and on monitoring and evaluating the results of antibiotic treatment in collaboration with the Institute of Pathological Anatomy.

 

In the middle of 1958, the reconstruction and reconstruction finally began and the clinic moved to a temporary workplace in Řepčín.

 

The 1989 revolution brought a change in the management of the clinic. On the basis of the bankruptcy proceedings doc. Kudela, who was appointed professor in 1995. The clinic underwent major construction modifications, new birth and operating theaters were built, including an intensive care unit. All departments were gradually rebuilt to meet modern requirements. Currently, most of the rooms are double to triple with a separate bathroom. The neonatal department is headed by the head physician Kantor and successfully fulfills the tasks of the regional perinatology center together with the clinic. Since 2009 doc.
