The Pekarska street
The Pekarska street is currated by Jan Zdráhal

The name of PekarskaStreet "Peckyn-Bäcker-Gasse" was probably due to the misunderstanding of the popular offensive name Bekyňská, according to the Bekaň - nunnery of the Dominikan Monastery (at St. Anne's), which was originally divided into several parts, its unspoiled upper part called "Before the Brno Gate" , the lower section at today's turn to Anenské Street was called "Great Bakery" and the part passing along the Dominican monastery was called "Against St. Anne". The western part of the street leading to the old-Brno monastery was called "Křížovnická" according to the order of the Johannites (also known as the Cross). Since 1850 the name Pekařská has been used throughout its length.
