The London Eye (officially known as the Coca-Cola London Eye, sometimes also referred to as the Millennium Wheel) has been the largest sightseeing bike in Europe since 1999 (until 2006 and in the world). It is 135 meters high and stands on the western edge of Jubilee Gardens on the south bank of the River Thames in London's Lambeth District between Westminster and Hungerford Bridge. Adjacent to County Hall and on the other side of the Thames is the Department of Defense in Westminster.

The wheel carries 32 air-conditioned passenger cabins mounted on the outer ring of the wheel.

By July 2002, some 8.5 million passengers had visited the bicycle, and as a result of this success, the original permit, which was valid for 8 years, was modified by the Lambda Town Hall into a permanent permit.

Despite its popularity, the London Eye is financially unprofitable. In the middle of the year, debts were about £ 25 million. Most of them are due to interest on expensive loans for its construction and fees of 4% of the ticket price charged by Tussaud for traffic management.
